Rahul Gandhi's Mumbai for all campaign

Rahul Gandhi's recent Mumbai visit has got the desired results for the family and the Congress party. He has proved that threats are not a way to have your say in a democracy.

But his (as well as his party's) silence during the last year's Raj Thakery's campaign against North-Indians was quite unfortunate. One is forced to think that his silence and the Assembly elections in Maharashtra were not mere coincidences.

His sudden support for SRK and his discovery of voice has been heart warming to many Liberals. But he probably gained voice only after RSS, one of the most hated organizations by liberals in India, came openly in the support of North Indians.

Was it (Rahul's Mumbai for all campaign) done to check liberals start appreciating RSS an inturn BJP, or was it done keeping the forthcoming Bihar assembly elections in mind?

New category in PadmaShri

I heard that Congress has given a secret commitment to Indian Media that if it comes back to the power, it will start a new Category in PadmaShri.

This category will be called "Exemplary Service to Congress Party in the field of Journalism".

It has been reported that Congress has told media persons they have already given various Padma Shri awards to various media Persons disguised in the form of other fields.
To quote some examples they reported the following cases:

* Barkha Dutt getting Padma Shri in year 2008, a year before election year.

* Rajdeep Sardesai getting Padma Shri in 2007.

* Shobhana Bhartia getting Padma Shri in 2005 as soon as UPA came to power. That too for journalism though she is just a Businesswoman owning Hindustan Times Group. It's like giving Vijay Mallaya the Best Cricketer award, since his team of "Royal Challengers Bangalore" was Runner up in IPL-2.

* In 2007, Teesta Seetalwad was awarded the PadmaShri by the Government of India.

It has been reported that Media is quite convinced with these promises and has started campaigning in favour of Congress Party.

Prejudice of Indian Media

Where is the news of Manmohan Singh saying that Muslims have first right on country's resources?

Where is the news about Terrorists in Kashmir who kill our own Soldiers getting pension from Indian Government? ( For video link click here.)

Where is the news of Teesta Seetalwad spicing up the Affidavits in Gujarat?

Where is the news of La-loo calling Advani a Haram$#@*??

Where is the news of Digvijay Singh threatening Mayawati that Congress will use CBI against her?

Where is the news of Amar Singh accusing Congress of using CBI against Mulayam?

Seems media is India has turned a blind eye to all the misdeeds of non BJP political parties especially Congress Party.
Open your eyes and you will find a hundred stories like these.

Jobs in the time of recession !! (with pension)

Recently I came to know about a very good career option.

What did you say? You are not educated. Don't worry pal !! Doesn't matter even if you are illiterate. Have faith and don't be so naive. Haven't you heard about the UPA Government's "hand", which provides succour to everyone. Yes, everyone !!

The option is to become a terrorist and fight against Indian Army in Kashmir. And you will mint a lot of money for every soldier you kill.

Ok dude..don't kill any soldiers. You are a true patriot. Just act like one and get the joining incentives from various Pak agencies. No better job in the time of Recession.

Ok mate... I agree. Your concern is valid. What if you are killed? Indian Soldiers don't know that you are just pretending.

But wait a minute pal. I haven't I told you everything. You have very graceful rulers ruling our country.

They have recently passed a bill, providing pension to the families of dead Terrorists in Kashmir. Remember "the hand".

So, I find being a "Terrorist in Kashmir" a more lucrative job then being a S/W Engineer or a CA or any other such job. These private jobs don't fetch you or your family any pension. Do they??

And the best part is that the salary will be given by Pakistan government and the Pension will be given by Indian Gov. You can enjoy the best of both the Worlds..Literally...

You haven't heard about this news. This media is so biased I tell you. They don't tell you much about the generousity of our Rulers.

What man. You don't believe what I say. But seeing is believing. You just watch this video clip to trust my words.

I think you are convinced now. Aren't you??

Media v/s BJP

I am anguished. I find Indian media very biased.

I picked today's newspaper and hoped to read about the wrong doings of Teesta Seetalwad, and what I found was a picture of 5th generation scions of Nehru-Gandhi dynasty on the first page.
The crown prince of India (3rd in line of throne, Rehan Vadra Gandhi) is asking for the votes for his uncle (1st in line of throne and the King in making).

I have this question from Indian media and it's audience: Is this not insinuating the voters? Is it not the violation of model code of conduct by using children in election process. Are we living in a democracy or is it a monarchy?

Media was foremost runner in bringing a bad name for BJP and Modi, for what they purportedly did to the Muslims in Gujarat. Media should now apologize to these two for showing them in a bad light. Secular movie makers like Nandita Das are provided with a Godsend opportunity to make a movie on Teesta's wrongdoings. But let us see if they will make it.

Will EC take action against Rahul Gandhi for using kids in his campaign. Media should highlight his wrongdoings and not insinuate voters as it is doing. I hope that someone from BJP is listening and will raise a complaint against 'King in Making'

By the way, there was no news about Teesta spicing up the affidavits, in the news bulletins last night. But I seriously hope that someone files a case against her for perjury.

Reservations for Religious minorities

Due to some reason I failed to reach in IITs after my 10+2 (though I worked very hard, but was not brainy enough) and I failed to reach IIMs (because I am not that good in English), I will ensure that my next generation doesn't face such a problem. I always wished that I were a student from reserved category.

I can't change my caste, but I can surely change my religion. And believing that Congress led UPA will win this election and will implement what they have said their manifesto (Oh come on dude!! they have a record of 62 years behind them)

I have started going to Church and know more about the God's word. I think even if God doesn't hear me, Congress will. Another friend of mine has met a Maulavi to know more about Islam. And Godwilling (I am not sure about pre-election God or post-Election God so it is for both the GODs) I and my future genration will become a Sarkari Damaad (Son-in-law of the Indian Governement) as I am going to chuck my forefather's religion soon.

Articles 25, 26, 27 and 28 of the Indian Constitution provides me (I know my English is bad, but I will surely reach IIM) Fundamental right to profess my Religion, but I am being deterred from going to a Temple and being called a Hindu, since that might cost me an IIM seat.

Double speak of Congress Party

  • Calling the inability of the government of Karnataka in containing "The Mangalore Pub Incident"  "a Law and Order Problem" is fine with Congress. While not saying a word against another Maharashtra State gov, where thousands of North Indians were beaten and the state gov was not able to do anything. It was not a law and order problem, since this state was governed by a Congress party.
  • Neera Yadav has got a Silver Medal in Corruption according to Mr. Kapil Sibbal and others in Congress. And her induction is BJP is wrong according to them. But what about Azharuddin, the gold medalist of Match Fixing. Neera Yadav at least did not sell her country for money. And she was not rewarded with a M.P. ticket form BJP as Azhar was rewarded by Congress.
  • Post Godhara riots were wrong doing of BJP, but 1984 Sikh riots by Congress were just fine.
  • Shiv-sena is a communal outfit but Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) is a secular one as congress gets support to form Gov. in Centre from MIM.
  • RSS is communal, but Indian Union Muslim League is very secular (Congress got support from them to make Gov. in Center), as was the one who started the cries for partition in 1947.
  • Varun Gandhi's speech was a hate speech, but what Lalu and Srinivas spoke, was preaching love and peace.
  • Muslim MPs of Congress raising questions on Batla House encounter is so reasonable.
  • Antulay raising question over martyrdom of Police Chief Karkare is fine since he is Congress leader.

Secularism v/s Communalism

Its very easy being Secular in India. You have to read this and follow what our politicians do to be called a secular in India. Actually Its not about love or hate for any particular religion but about the double speak of our politicians.

You become a secular in India by:

  • If you endorse Baba Ramdev's claims about treating terminal illnesses with yoga and Ayurveda you become a communal person but calling Baba Ramdev a quack and approving Benny Hinn's treatment of congenital diseases with the help of faith healing you become a secular.

  • Cursing Hindu Gods and ask them to leave Tamil-Nadu since their devotees pray to them in Sanskrit (and not in Tamil) is secular. Calling Lord Rama a drunkard is also secular. But not saying a word about other religion(s), whose God(s) don't/doesn't understand anything apart from a foreign languages is just fine.

  • Government banning Satanic Verses, before any of the Muslim countries could do so is secular. But talking about free speech and artistic freedom when some Hindus raise their voice against M.F. Hussein's paintings of Hindu Gods in nude.

  • Approving the government of teaching M.F.Huessien's Biography in C.B.S.E. curriculum as he is the famous son of India, is secular. But forget to mention anything about Salman Rushdie (who I guess is not so famous according to Indian Gov.), since it will anger religious minorities is just fine.

  • Asking Taslima Nasreen to find some other country to live in is secular, since some fringe Muslim group in India caused her to become a "law and order problem". Compare it with the support to Illegal Bangladeshi Migrants from some political quarters and If you ask them to go back to Bangladesh, you are communal.

  • Brand RSS as communal force but get support from Muslim League to form the Government in Delhi (a secular party, which raised the voice for independent Pakistan) as you are a secular.

  • You are secular if you cry hoarse over Gujarat Riots in which around 500-700 Muslims were killed, but you will be a communal person if you mention that there were around 300 Hindus also who were killed in post-Godhara Riots. Besides you always forget to mention that these riots were started when 55 innocent Hindu women and children were burnt by an angry mob.

  • Kandmal violence in which 50 Christians were killed is Communal and 1984 massacre of 3500 Sikhs was secular.

  • You are a secular if you approve your Gov. of providing subsidy to Haj pilgrims using tax-payers money (which not even a Muslim country does and as of 2008 has cost the exchequer an amount of Rs. 700 crore). But you will be branded communal of you talk about 100 acres of land not being given to provide some facilities to Amarnath pilgrims, since it would have dangered kashmiriyat.

  • You are a secular if you raise doubt over Batla house encounter, since some muslim youth were killed/apprehended in this encounter. Claiming that Delhi police have killed their own encounter specialist (M.C. Sharma) to make it look real. You will be communal person if you are bothered about what happens to Indian Soldiers fighting terrorist in Kashmir.

  • Writing essays on why Afzal Guru is innocent makes you a secular, even though Supreme Counrt of India has found him guilty.

  • The Muslim Khawateen-e-markaz, a women wing of the LeT, teaching Kashmiri women how to kill Indian soldiers in full Media view is secular, but Durga Vahini is communal.

  • Proposals to rename Lucknow to Lakshmanpur and Ahemadabad to Karnavati are communal but renaming Anantnag to Islamabad is secular.

  • PM loosing his sleep over accusations of some Indian Muslims being involved in Terror activities in Britain and Australia is secular. But If you talk about the mum kept by Indian PM over an Indian getting killed in Afghanistan, its communal.

  • Making Azam Khan a minister in U.P. Gov. since he was a leader from minority is secular. Does't matter he called Bharata-Mata a dayan (witch).

Media v/s Varun

The society has, just as the media has, a vested interest in considerable losses and catastrophes. These wars, famines, floods and quakes meet well-defined needs. Man wants chaos. In fact, he has to have it. Depression, strife, riots, murder, all this dread. We're irresistibly drawn to that almost orgiastic state...created out of death and destruction. It's in all of us. We revel in it.

Sure, the media tries to put a sad face on these things, painting them up as great human tragedies. But we all know the function of the media has never been... to eliminate the evils of the world, no. Their job is to persuade us to accept those evils and get used to living with them. The powers that be want us to be passive observers.
And they haven't given us any other options...outside the occasional, purely symbolic, participatory act of voting.

English media in India seems to have created a Hindutva Hero out of Varun Gandhi.
Saturday was fully devoted to Varun's Surrender. Media was there at the crack of the dawn when Varun was leaving Delhi for Pilibhit, it was there when he courted surrender and it was there to ask the Jailor about what he ate (dal/chawal and roti was the reply).

So what is this media frenzy about? Yes they are biased. And Varun's comments on minorities are deplorable. But media is really hoping that controversies like these never end so that they can conduct TV debates and their TRPs get a boost. BJP is confused that this will actually help it or will it cause more harm then good. Congress is confused as well. On the one hand they have got an opportunity to malign BJP, on the other they are frustrated with the support Varun had got from Hindutva quarters.

In my opinion, Varun is just a novice politicians, who, too desperate to win his first election, got himself involved in cheap divisive politics, and suddenly became a scapegoat for Congress and media.
But I am sure that the hype created by Media, will actually cost BJP a fair share of fringe voters. And as an Indian of almost the same age as of Varun, I am hurt because he could have gone to the minorities and majorities alike, and use his charisma and more importantly his "surname" to reach out the voters on the promise of development and could have won the elections, in spite of the colour of the flag he is contesting with.

Glib Congress Machinery at work

We are witnessing the Glib Congress Machinery in its full swing. It has successfully deflected the attention of Indian electorate from the CEC Controversy.
Though the Mangalore attacks on women by Sri Ram Sene, or anyone else can not be endorsed। But where were the likes of Renuka Chaudhary and Chidambaram at the time when North Indians were being attacked in Congress governed Maharashtra. Where were the cries of The Responsibility of State Government when scores of North-Indian were being beaten and many were being chased away from Maharashtra towns.
Not even a single Minister from the Central Government accused the State Government for law and order situation in Congress ruled Maharashtra.
